I am a child of refugees who survived the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia. My younger brother and I were born in a refugee camp in Thailand and in 1985, our family of four immigrated to Canada as refugees and attained our Canadian citizenship a few years later.

​In my teens, I struggled with navigating two cultures, like many immigrants. Having limited access to professional role models that looked like me, who understood my story and the nuances of Cambodian Canadian people, I felt lost and angry. But I found joy and community in cultural gatherings, active play, and sports. 

Now in my 40s, I've found the deeper connection to my heritage I used to long for. I'm an avid runner and a proponent that any daily physical activity does wonders for your mental health.

I'm passionate about storytelling to uplift communities, preserve culture, and drive meaningful change. To name just a few, I'm open to paid speaking engagements related to:
